With the cross country season quickly approaching, coach Vince DeGrado is looking to help boost local runners’ distance performance with his annual Allen County Cross Country Camp.
The camp, which begins on July 29 and lasts until Aug. 1, offers a chance for the area’s seventh to 12th-graders to train and learn more about the sport of cross country.
DeGrado, ACC’s cross country coach, said there is an option to attend either the day camp or choose to spend three nights in the school’s dorms. The price for day campers will be $100 per person and $125 for overnight campers.
The price of admission includes meals, a T-shirt and water bottle, a copy of all running material and a gait analysis using Dartfish video software.
During camp, the runners will participate in morning and evening runs with classroom sessions and recreation periods in between.
